Salta and Train to the Clouds

Salta City, capital of the province, was founded on April 16th, 1582 by Hernando de Lerma, governor of Tucumán and it was originally placed in a beautiful and fertile valley that takes its name.

Well-known as Salta "la linda", it is one of the few Argentine cities that has preserved its colonial architecture and style. Modern buildings complement this scenario along with several green spaces, such as the San Martin Park, connected to San Bernardo Hill by the cableway.
